Village background
Govindapura is one among the six villages selected for development under the UBA program. It is located in Hoskote Taluk, Bengaluru Rural District, falls within Jadigenahalli Gram Panchayat and is 38 km from the District headquarters and 8 km away from the Taluk headquarters. The village has 127 households with a population of 510, where the sex ratio is 1081 females per 1000 males. The men population is 245 and 265 is the women population. Majority of the families in the village fall under the Below the Poverty Line (BPL) category. The literacy rate of the village is 79.38%. Major agricultural produce is carrot and ragi.
