Village Background
Gonakanahalli is one among the six villages selected for development under the UBA program. It is located in Hoskote Taluk, Bengaluru Rural District, falls within Orohalli Gram Panchayat and is 37 km from the District headquarters and 7 km away from the Taluk headquarters. The village has 153 households with a population of 696, where the sex ratio is 912 females per 1000 males. The men population is 364 and 332 is the women population. Majority of the families in the village fall under the Below the Poverty Line (BPL) category. The literacy rate of the village is 68.25%. Major agricultural produce is ragi.
